In Florida, if mold is discovered and it takes up an area of 10 sq ft or more , then you will need to contact a state certified mold assessor AND a mold remediation company.
The goal of remediation is to remove or clean contaminated materials in a way that prevents the emission of fungi and dust contaminated with fungi.
Improper methods for cleaning mold include exposure to high heat, dry air, sunlight (particularly UV light) ozone and application of fungicides. These methods render the mold non-viable, however, the mold and its by-products can still elicit negative health effects.
The only proper way to clean up mold is to utilize solutions that physically remove old. The most effective way is formal MOLD REMEDIATION
